The Athens Drive orchestra offers opportunities for string players of all levels to further their musical education through performances in small ensembles, chamber orchestra and full orchestra. The Orchestra is an integral part of the performing community of Athens Drive, performing at Open Houses, school events, and for the school musical.
The Orchestra consistently receives “Superior” ratings at the NC Eastern Regional Orchestra Contest/Festival. Its students are eligible to audition for All-State Orchestra and NC Honors Orchestra.
Our students participate in the Western Wake Orchestra Festival every year and present a chamber music concert each spring. Our young musicians have also performed outreach programs for elementary school children in North Carolina and have made special presentations in Gates, Dare, Chowan, and Columbus Counties.
